It's Like Riding a Bike...

"I was thinking..."
These are the words we say to each other when we mean serious business.  Over 15+ years of serious business has happened following these words.  When he said "I was thinking... instead of a Christmas letter this year, we should start a new blog and put the blog address somewhere on our Christmas card."  I was pretty sure there was more to what he was saying.

So, my response was, "When you say 'we', what you are really saying is 'me', right?"

Then, he resorts to flattery, "This is what I love about you."

Apparently, flattery will get you out of having to create "our" new blog.  It might take a LOT of flattery... and jewelry... and maybe some trips and stuff to get me into keeping it up.  We'll see.

The trick will be relearning how to put on pictures, make a fancy title, add those what-cha-ma-who-sits on the sidebar thingy.  You know... the really important things that set your blog apart from other people's blogs.  The ACCESSORIES!

Another trick will be setting aside the time to do it.  I mean, I only took on a new job, PTA secretary position, volunteer position with the soccer organization, I have my church calling, I have to grocery shop at some point in the month, and my house needs to not stink.  But what's another thing?

The truth is, I probably need this.  I miss blogging.  Facebook is great!  But when your statuses are 3 paragraphs long, well... that's when you know you need to broaden your social media horizons.  Besides, with my kids in piano, violin, soccer, ballet and all their academic highlights... I mean, how better to endlessly brag about them?  Oh and pictures of FOOD!  They will look so much better here!  And my rants about Utah drivers!  Can't you just hear my blog-juices flowing?  Aren't you excited?  Wait!  Where are you going?

What if I put up pictures like this:

I know, it was a dirty trick!  I used to have to put pictures of half naked men on here... I could promise to do that sometime :)
